How You Can Make a Difference

Volunteer Application

Since its modest beginnings of almost 20 years ago, The Frontier Animal Society has been the training ground for countless numbers of good people who have come together with a common purpose--helping the stray and abandoned animals in the Stanstead, Ogden area.

Here volunteer opportunities exist in every field of animal welfare. Those who prefer the challenge of physically caring for pets are welcome seven days a week. This work consists of exercising, bathing, and grooming dogs that are available for adoption; helping with the medical care of ailing animals; and, most importantly, keeping tails wagging and eyes shining with lots of love and attention. Cat lovers may elect to work exclusively with cats and kittens. Volunteers are also trained to help the public select animals for adoption and to counsel and educate while doing so.

Volunteers are also needed away from the shelters, to help show and give information about animals at adoption events. They are also needed to transport animals from shelters to vet offices, to other shelters, or to rescue organizations in the Eastern Township Region.

Those who prefer a less physical role may wish to become involved in writing, publishing, special events, telephoning, or mailing activities. Artists, photographers, and those with computer skills are invaluable for our vital advertising efforts. As we continue to develop as an organization, we are in constant need of volunteers with decision-making and administrative abilities to serve actively as board members.

Seasoned volunteers have experience in many areas of the FASAF involvement and, through ingenuity and perseverance, can proudly boast of having rescued dozens or even hundreds of animals from untimely deaths. After attention to medical or other problems, these cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens have been placed in loving, permanent homes. As a result, hundreds of people have been educated about the appalling crisis of pet overpopulation and the role of the Frontier Animal Society in attempting to solve it.

Opportunities are only as limited as your imagination. For love of the animals, please call our us at (819) 876-7785 and learn more about becoming a Frontier Animal Society volunteer, or complete our Volunteer Application today!
